My Hidden Wardrobe

Ladies!  It’s time to say goodbye to the cold weather.  Flower is blooming, water is falling, the wind is blowing, the birds start singing and little plants start growing.  Leave all the black and blues to the back of the wardrobe and let us all take a deep fresh breath, we welcome you spring!  Be Miss Sunshine by splashing some natures and our favourite flower into our beautiful canvas- our gorgeous body.

Every girl has her own favourite flower.  What’s yours?  Whether it is Dandelions, Daisies, or a bouquet of English Roses, you can have it all this spring.  Chic and strong, let’s bring all the floral prints out from our secret garden and spread some love by showing the world the romantic fairy- tale look.  Here's the highlight of the designers that uses floral print as SS14 inspiration.  I hope you get inspired and have a fresh spring!

Jonathan Saunders
The prints and the textiles was a sensory overload for Jonathan Saunders.  Don’t you just fell in love with the worn out velvets teamed with delicate psychedelic floral embroidery, and wide peaked lapel suede jackets with floral western shirts underneath?  Jonathan Saunders sure has created a vibrant energy running through out the collection.  This is how Saunders presents his spring to us.  Find it hard to fit in all the booming colours in a go? Try the other look by wearing minimal flowy chiffon pleated skirt in beige colour.  In order to keep going with the sport- luxe trend (sporty blended with luxury fashion) nothing screams sporty better than a cool satin bomber jacket with the big floral print in the middle.  Just wear a white or black sandals complimented the look, and just let the clothes take the centre stage.  And BOOM!  There you go, the sporty, urban element yet feminine look is born.

Christopher Kane

I call Christopher Kane Mr. Fashion Scientist.  Out of all the fashion designers who did floral print, he is one of my favorites.  His take on floral stood out from the crowd and felt different.  Kane yet again experiments with each collection, pushing the boundaries of clothing by using fabric in a new way, introducing an unexpected detail on a signature shape, and taking inspiration from previously successful trials.  Christopher Kane’s flowers are all fashioned out of sequins on sheer organza and don’t let it scared you away because it sounds awfully sweet.  Because fashion scientist Kane has a way with taking even with the most feminine reference or motif and giving it an edge and come spring, these dresses will undoubtedly be at the top of my wish lists.  Think feminine but cutting- edge.

Mary Katrantzou
If we talk about floral print, how can I not mention Mary Katrantzou?  Having the title “ the queen of print”, every season she always comes up with new ideas in order to create outstanding print, and she never let people down.  This season, she uses Chinese floral print and let the bold green, deep burgundy and purple ruffle skirts lighten up our days.  The floral on the garments is beautifully embellished with Swarovski crystals.  There’s a party to attend?  Girls, this is your dress you are looking for and I am sure it will make you shine.
Please don’t forget about the shoes/ brogue.  Instead of using leather, she uses canvas and come along with prints- the placement of the prints was, as usual, flawless.  Here’s a tip to wear Kantranzou’s shoes: You don’t have to wear like the runway model if you found it too much to handle.  Just wear something plain for the top and bottom and let the shoes take you to paradise and together we embrace the floral spring look.
